Chlorides deposited on a surface by contaminated abrasive during blasting can lead to premature failure of a coating.
Contamination can occur, especially if the abrasive is recycled several times. By using the Elcometer 134A Chloride Ion Test for abrasives in the field, contaminants can be accurately identified and costly surface related failures prevented.
Results are recorded in parts per million (ppm) so no complicated calculations are required. The Elcometer 134A test is designed to use a 1:1 ratio to allow easy conversion to µg/cm².
Cross-contamination from test to test is avoided by the single use of individual components. The components are pre-measured to ensure accurate results in parts per million. In addition, no temperature correction from 41°F to 176°F is required. Use this innovative product safely with any abrasive.
