Integration & system accessories – interfaces for a coordinated robotic application

Integration and system accessories connect selected processing components to the existing robot and installation environment. Depending on version, they include mechanical mounts, cables and other system-specific additions. Clear matching of tool, robot and control is decisive. An integration kit simplifies particular connections but does not automatically form a complete, fully assessed processing installation.

Select flange and adapter by overall geometry

Besides mounting dimensions, consider tool length, orientation and available movement space. An adapter may change distance from the robot mount and thus the arrangement. Check payload and other permissible loads against robot data. Matching holes alone do not fully establish mechanical suitability.

Identify power and communication clearly

Cables, power supplies and communication modules must meet the tool's technical requirements. Clarify signals and connection to existing controls. A kit for one robot platform does not automatically suit other control families. Observe stated supply and functional scope.

Route hoses and cables throughout movement

Extraction hoses and electrical lines must follow intended paths. Check bend radii, spare length and safe guidance without impermissible loading. Avoid rubbing against workpiece, fixture or robot. Check suitability through the whole movement, not just at rest.

Clarify integration scope and responsibilities

Define supplied parts and tasks remaining with the integrator. These may include programming, process design, protection and tests. Keep matching and installation documents. Changes to tool, connections or process may require renewed assessment of the affected area.

Frequently asked questions: integration & system accessories

Is a robot installation kit a finished sanding cell?

No. It includes expressly stated integration components. Robot, workholding, protection and commissioning are included only when clearly agreed and specified.

Does a standard flange suit every application?

Not automatically. Mounting is one criterion; geometry, loads, routing and complete process connection also need checking.

Who checks the complete arrangement?

Define responsibility within the integration project. Individual product approvals do not replace professional testing and assessment of the full application.
