Industrial dust extractors for sanding must suit the dust generated and the connected machine. Besides container capacity, equipment classification, airflow, filtration concept and operation are decisive. A large container or high power consumption alone says little about suitability. Compare the specific equipment and check the complete arrangement with hose, connection and suitable consumables.
Choose equipment according to the processed materials and risk assessment. A dust class M version is not automatically suitable for every hazardous dust or potentially explosive area. Even a high-performance replacement filter does not independently change the extractor's overall classification. Approval of the complete machine is decisive.
Automatic filter cleaning, filter access and the bag system affect practical operation. Check which combination the manufacturer recommends for the intended dust. Nominal container capacity does not necessarily equal usable collection capacity in every application. Plan regular inspections and safe replacement of contaminated parts instead of focusing solely on maximum filling.
An integrated workstation requires compatible hose connection, airflow and, where applicable, automatic start functions. Observe the permissible connected load of the equipment socket. For cordless or pneumatic tools, check separately whether and how automatic start is controlled. An available socket does not mean every tool type can use the same function.
An extractor may collect liquids only if designed for it. Switching modes may impose specific requirements for bags, filters and preparation. Follow the operating instructions and exclude unsuitable media and hot particles. After use, clean, dry and maintain according to the equipment design.

Learn moreNo. Required equipment suitability depends on the dust and process. Specific hazardous substances, combustible dust and potentially explosive areas may impose different or additional requirements.
No. Classification concerns the complete machine and its prescribed equipment. A single filter does not establish another equipment class.
Only if the equipment, duct network and connections are designed for the intended multi-workstation operation. Adding a manifold alone does not establish sufficient extraction at every tool.
