Typical faults in the spray gun: swirling in the flow cup
Why does swirling occur in the flow cup of my spray gun?
Swirls in the flow cup can affect the material supply and lead to uneven painting patterns. This often happens when the ventilation is obstructed or the paint nozzle is not firmly seated.
What can be done to eliminate swirls in the gravity feed cup?
- Tighten the paint nozzle: Use the original SATA tool set totighten the paint nozzle correctly.
- Clean the paint nozzle: Regular cleaning according to "Spray gun cleaning and maintenance" prevents deposits and ensures an even flow of material.
- Replace air diffuser ring: A worn air diffuser ring can increase swirl. Replace as needed.
- Keep the prime hole clear: Make sure the prime hole is not clogged and replace the flow cup if necessary.
What causes swirls in the flow cup?
- Loose fluid nozzle: a loose fluid nozzle can disrupt the material flow.
- Dirty vent: Blockages in the vent hole obstruct the air supply and cause swirls in the flow cup.
