SATAjet X 5500: Commissioning, Care, and Occupational Safety (PDF-based)
This guide shows safe initial installation, clean operation, and a practical cleaning and maintenance regime for the SATAjet X 5500 – with key figures from the operating manual (e.g., air requirements, temperature, connections).
Initial Installation & Commissioning
- Check components: Scope of delivery according to manual (gun with nozzle set, 0.6 l flow cup, tool set, CCS clips) complete and undamaged.
- Mount cup: Correctly lock QCC flow cup; insert paint filter.
- Connect air: Use 1/4'' external thread at gun connection; check tight couplings/hoses.
- Neutral settings: Define air micrometer, round/flat spray control, and material flow regulation (document start position).
- Test run: Short air test, check tightness and trigger travel, then fill in sieved material.
Air Path & Compressor Check
Clean, dry air is essential. The manual specifies consumption at 2.0 bar gun inlet pressure:
| System | Air consumption (at 2.0 bar) | Note |
|---|---|---|
| RP | ≈ 290 Nl/min (≈ 10.2 cfm) | Check line cross-section and regulators for throughput |
| HVLP | ≈ 430 Nl/min (≈ 15.2 cfm) | Higher demand – size air treatment accordingly |
- Regularly drain condensate, maintain filters/separators.
- Observe max. spray material temperature: 50 °C.
- Always set/check pressures at the gun inlet under load.
Cleaning Protocol (After Shift)
- Empty material, fill in suitable cleaner, flush briefly.
- Remove/clean nozzle, air cap, needle; do not use aggressive brushes.
- Check seats and seals, lightly oil – reassemble.
- Store gun dry; insert cup/filter clean.
Maintenance Plan (Compact)
| Component | Scope | Interval |
|---|---|---|
| Nozzle/Air cap/Needle | Clean, check seat | Daily after use |
| Seals | Check condition/replace | Regularly/as needed |
| Cup system/Filter | Clean, insert correctly | Daily |
| Air micrometer/Controls | Check function | Regularly |
| Air treatment | Maintain filters/separators | As scheduled/when saturated |
Safety & Conformity
- Observe warning and information symbols (e.g., explosion hazard, general warning).
- Use only as intended for suitable, flowable spray materials.
- Maximum inlet pressure: 10 bar; observe operating ranges per system.
- Disposal/CE documentation and warranty notes according to manual.
Disposal & Battery (Digital Version)
- Battery type: Renata CR1632 (Art. No. 213769); dispose of properly.
- Digital display: On/off threshold approx. 0.2 bar; max. display value 9.9 bar; accuracy ±0.10 bar.
- Protect electronics from moisture/impact; clean display only with suitable means.
Scope of Delivery & CCS
- Spray gun with nozzle set
- 0.6 l flow cup (plastic), paint filter
- Tool set, operating manual
- CCS clips (ColorCode System)
- Mark guns (e.g., material group)
- Avoid mix-ups and misoperation
- Quick identification in everyday work
