Quickstart: The 3 Quality Levers

1) Pressure at Gun Inlet Set stable + reproducible; small steps (0.1–0.2 bar) have a big effect on the spray pattern.
2) Air Cap / Spray Pattern Homogeneous edge, no “banana.” For clearcoat, a slight oval is fine; for basecoat, as full-surface as possible.
3) Material Amount & Distance Open with fine adjustments; keep distance consistent (Base: 12–15 cm, Clearcoat: 15–18 cm).

Measure pressure at the gun (digital) and log it. Rely only on the compressor gauge – ignore hose losses.
Check spray pattern on a test panel before real work. Spray directly onto the part without pre-check.
Fine-tune material in 1/4-turn increments. Make big jumps → unpredictable spray pattern.

2-Minute Check: Spray Pattern

  1. On test panel: even, closed edge without drips.
  2. HVLP: as full-surface as possible; RP: slight oval for flow is fine.
  3. If “banana”: align air cap symmetrically, test +0.1 bar.
  4. Edges dry? Open material slightly or reduce distance by 2 cm.
  5. Maintain constant 70–75% overlap and travel speed.
