Process Focus: What “Constant” Really Means
Setup Checklist Before Application
- Compressed Air Line: Check water/oil separators, drain condensate, monitor filter level
- Hose & Swivel Joint: No kinks, suitable length/inner Ø; use swivel for steady hand guidance
- RPS/Cup: Clean, properly locked; material strained and prepared per datasheet
- Nozzle System (X): I or O geometry matched to material flow and desired pattern
- Digital Display: Function check; battery level, clearly readable display
- Test Panel: Prepare test plate to validate spray pattern in advance
Reference Values for Stability (Starting Points)
Fine-tuning follows the paint manufacturer’s datasheet and booth conditions. Values are guidelines:
- RP – Clearcoat/Topcoat: Gun inlet approx. 2.0 bar; nozzle 1.3–1.4; constant distance
- HVLP – Basecoat: Inlet pressures on the lower side; nozzle often 1.3; steadier stroke guidance
- Spray Distance: Keep in moderate range, overlap passes evenly (e.g. 60%)
- Documentation: Note nozzle, cap, pressure, temperature, material batch
Quality Assurance in 6 Steps
- Check Air: Filters/separators OK, no condensate; record booth temperature
- Prepare Gun: Suitable X nozzle (I/O), clean air cap, properly locked cup
- Set Pressure: Under load on digital gauge; record setpoint
- Spray Test Panel: Evaluate pattern, mist, texture; fine-tune pressure/flow if needed
- Application: Constant distance/angle; even coverage; steady hand guidance
