Tieser Vacuum Solvent Distillation Unit, DIstatic Series, Type DV 12 AX – LCD
The Tieser vacuum solvent distillation units with stainless steel (INOX) coolers from the Distatic series are available with working volumes of 12, 25, 60 and 120 litres. They are suitable for the recovery and reuse of contaminated solvents from cleaning and degreasing processes.

Process description:
By utilising simple distillation, contaminants (such as resins, polymers, pigments, paints, oils, etc.) are separated from the original solvent. The contaminated solvent is boiled in a stainless steel vessel (Inox AISI 304). Uniform heating is achieved via a heating jacket filled with heat transfer oil, which is heated by one or more heating elements. The solvent vapours produced are directed into an air- or water-cooled condenser. The condensed solvent is collected directly in a container for subsequent reuse. In the case of liquid contaminants, the residues are discharged by simply tilting the vessel. For solid contaminants, a heat- and solvent-resistant foil bag is used. The properties of the solvent are not altered by the distillation process, meaning that the process can be repeated as often as required. All systems can be fitted with a vacuum unit. This method is suitable for solvents with very high boiling points or for flammable solvents where the boiling point and auto-ignition temperature are close together. The vacuum can be generated pneumatically or electrically, as required.

Additional instructions for pneumatic vacuum kettles:
Distillation systems with a pneumatic vacuum vessel require a compressed air supply. This must be dry and oil-free, reach a pressure range of at least 6 bar and generate a minimum air flow rate of 450 l/min (for the duration of vacuum build-up).
The vacuum is factory-set to between -0.5 and -0.7 bar negative pressure, depending on the system type.
The vacuum vessel is automatically pressurised with compressed air. The distillation kettle and the vacuum vessel are then vented (placed under vacuum) via the Venturi nozzle, and the set negative pressure of -0.5 to -0.7 bar is established. The process is accompanied by a clearly audible ‘hissing’ sound. As the vacuum approaches the set value, the ‘hissing’ sound becomes noticeably quieter. The pneumatic vacuum valve now maintains a constant vacuum throughout the entire distillation process. Depending on the airtightness of the entire system, this may occasionally result in brief (a few seconds) re-vacuuming cycles.
