Typical faults in the spray gun: air leak
Why is my spray gun leaking on the air side?
An air leak in the spray gun can be caused by damaged sealing elements or a deformed air piston rod. Regular maintenance and the correct suspension of the gun help to avoid this problem.
What measures help with air leaks?
- Regular maintenance and cleaning of the sealing elements: Use the SATA seal set for your spray gun to keep seals in good condition.
- Replace air piston rod: If damaged, the air piston rod should be replaced to eliminate leaks.
- Note: Spray guns should never be placed in solvents. Use the gun's hanging hook or suitable devices such as the SATA Universal Spray Gun Holder #9886 or the SATA Spray Gun Stand #40188.
What causes air leaks?
- Incorrect cleaning: dried residues in the area of the seals can cause damage and leaks.
- Incorrect hanging: improper hanging of the pistol on the air piston rod can deform it and cause air to escape.
