Why is the display on my digital gauge black?
A black display on a digital gauge often indicates damage caused by solvents or moisture ingress. A damaged seal or improper cleaning can affect the digital unit.
What action should be taken if a digital display is defective?
- Send to SATA service or sales partner: If the digital display is defective, it is recommended to send the spray gun to SATA service or the appropriate sales partner.
- Note: Never soak paint spray guns in solvent! Make sure that the battery has a new screw plug and clean the spray gun according to the SATA cleaning instructions.
What causes a black display?
- Immersion in solvents or leaving the gun in the gun washer for a long time: These practices can damage the seal on the screw plug of the battery compartment, allowing solvent to enter the digital unit and making the display appear black.
