Cleaning and drying the nozzle set – step-by-step instructions

A clean nozzle set is the basis for perfect painting results. Cleaning and drying the paint nozzle, air nozzle and paint needle properly ensures a long service life and optimal performance. This article provides instructions that are mainly based on pictorial explanations.

Step 1: Disassembling the nozzle set

Before you start cleaning, the individual components of the nozzle set must be safely removed:

  1. Pull out the paint needle (see picture).
  2. Loosen the paint nozzle with a tool wrench and carefully remove (see picture).
  3. Unscrew and remove the air cap (see picture).

Step 2: Cleaning the individual components

Each component of the nozzle set should be cleaned individually and carefully:

  1. Paint needle: Use a suitable cleaning agent such as SATA multi clean 2 and clean the paint needle carefully with a soft cloth (see picture).
  2. Fluid nozzle: Thoroughly flush the fluid nozzle with the cleaning agent and remove any residue with a cleaning tool (see picture).
  3. Air cap: Cleanthe air cap with a fine brush, making sure that no residue remains in the holes (see picture).

Step 3: Drying the nozzle set

After cleaning, all components must be dried completely:

  1. Use a blow gun to remove excess water from the holes (see picture).
  2. Place the cleaned parts on a clean cloth and let them air dry (see picture).

Frequently asked questions

Answer: We do not recommend this as it can cause damage. Instead, use manual cleaning methods with appropriate tools and cleaning agents.
