Elcometer 319 Dew Point Meter Model S – Safely Check Climate Conditions, Prevent Coating Failures

Elcometer 319 (Model S) – robust dew point meter for measuring all relevant climate parameters required to assess suitable environmental conditions before and during coating applications.

The Elcometer 319 enables fast and reliable monitoring of relative humidity, air temperature, surface temperature, dew point as well as the TΔ difference between surface and dew point temperature. This allows condensation risks to be identified at an early stage and costly coating failures to be avoided.

  • Measures all key climate parameters: RH, Ta, Ts, Td, TΔ, Tdb (including calculated values such as Twb/SH)
  • IP66 protected – dustproof & waterproof for use in harsh environments
  • Integrated magnets for attachment to steel surfaces
  • Audible & visual alarm function when limit values are exceeded
  • Large, backlit display with trend indicator

Details & Information

Product Features
  • Dew point meter for checking climatic conditions prior to coating work
  • Standards-compliant use, e.g. in accordance with ISO 8502-4
  • Measured values: relative humidity (RH), air temperature (Ta), surface temperature (Ts), dew point (Td), TΔ, Tdb
  • Calculated additional values such as wet bulb temperature (Twb) and specific humidity (SH)
  • Large LCD display with °C/°F switch and backlight
  • Individually adjustable limit values with LED and audible alarm
  • Robust, ergonomic housing – operating range from -20 °C to +80 °C
  • Calibration certificate included
Practical benefit: Direct control of dew point and temperature differential at the component – for maximum process reliability in corrosion protection.
Variant Overview

The Elcometer 319 is available in two versions: Model S (handheld device) and Model T with extended data logging and monitoring functions. This product page describes Model S.

Variant Typical Use
Model S Portable handheld device for quick on-site climate checks
Model T With integrated data logging, interval measurement and PC/Bluetooth evaluation
Note: For long-term climate documentation or project-based evaluation, Model T is recommended.
Setup & Application
  • Position the sensor correctly – ensure proper contact with the surface
  • Check TΔ – monitor the difference between Ts and Td to assess condensation risk
  • Define limit values – activate the alarm function
  • Observe operating conditions – temperature range -20 °C to +80 °C
  • Check calibration status – consider the certificate
Tip: Thanks to the integrated magnets, the device can be attached hands-free to steel structures – ideal for measurements on tanks, pipelines or steel constructions.
Purpose / Applications
  • Preparation and approval of coating work
  • Corrosion protection in steel and plant construction
  • Offshore and industrial facilities
  • Quality assurance in accordance with ISO 8502-4
