Elcometer 990 Precision Foil Set
Calibration foils (shims) are the most convenient way to create a thickness standard on the actual substrate or on the coated surface. This lets you adjust your coating thickness gauge under real conditions and achieve the highest possible accuracy. Suitable for magnetic induction and eddy current coating thickness gauges such as the Elcometer 456.
Depending on the scale, a foil set covers a typical measuring range with five to eight foils – from 0–250 µm for thin coatings up to 0–30 mm for thick films. The Scale 2B set is designed for the cloth probe and has a larger foil area.
