Elcometer 224C – measure the surface profile of blasted surfaces digitally
The Elcometer 224C measures the peak-to-valley height of blasted or abraded surfaces before coating – fast, temperature independent and repeatable. The wear-resistant tungsten carbide tip is user-replaceable and lasts up to 20,000 readings. Choose the gauge with integral probe for one-handed use or the gauge for separate probes – with probes for flat or convex surfaces (pipes from 75 mm).

Integral or separate?
- Integral probe: everything in one gauge, ideal for one-handed measurement on flat surfaces
- For separate probes: gauge without probe – please order the probe as well: probes for flat surfaces or probes for convex surfaces (each with standard or armoured cable)
How to measure
- Place the probe perpendicular and zero the gauge on the glass zero plate.
- Take 5 or 10 readings per spot within an area of 100 mm diameter.
- The gauge shows the average or the maximum of the readings.
- For the average profile of an area, record 5 spots per 1 m².
