Airless Plus is an air-assisted airless spraying method used in areas such as corrosion protection, in the wood and furniture industry, construction machinery and metal processing.
The difference to traditional airless spraying is that air is supplied to the gun via a second hose.
Traditionally, material is pressed through the nozzle at between 30 and 150 bar and the added atomising air envelops the spray jet and ensures a soft boundary.
The air-assisted airless spraying process is ideally suited for water- and solvent-based paints and varnishes.
The advantages of this air-assisted airless plus method:
higher-quality surfaces than with the classic airless method
lower material consumption due to less overspray
faster application (high area coverage / working speed) due to larger application quantity compared to the airspray method
In principle, this can be considered a very economical spraying method for larger applications.
The disadvantages are that it is unsuitable for small quantities and the atomisation is not as fine as with the airspray method.
