The PS2000 series of spectrocolorimeters from 3nh has been developed for precise colour measurement, colour difference analysis and industrial quality control. The instruments combine the portability of a handheld colorimeter with spectral measurement technology and are suitable for reproducible measurements in laboratories, production environments and incoming goods inspection.

All models operate with D/8 measurement geometry and support SCI/SCE measurements. This allows colours to be evaluated both with and without the gloss component included. Depending on the model, different apertures are available, enabling reliable measurement of both larger standard surfaces and small, textured or hard-to-access samples.

Applications

The PS2000 series is suitable for colour difference control in plastics processing, the paint and coatings industry, printing, the textile and clothing industry, ceramics, packaging, electronics, powder materials, and general production and laboratory processes. The models with UV functionality are particularly suitable for fluorescent materials, optical brighteners, textiles, paper, plastics and samples where UV components influence the measurement result.

Colorimetric functions

The devices support numerous colour spaces and colour difference formulas for professional quality control. These include, amongst others, CIE LAB, XYZ, Yxy, LCh, sRGB, Munsell and CMYK. Common formulas such as ΔE*ab, ΔE94, ΔE00 and other industrial evaluations are available for assessing colour differences. In addition, parameters such as whiteness, yellowness, colour strength, opacity and colour simulation can be used for quality decisions.

The PS2000 series is designed for fast measurement sequences, simple operation and stable measurement results. The instruments are suitable for both horizontal and vertical measurements and can be used directly in production on components, surfaces, textiles, powders or print samples. Thanks to the different aperture variants, the appropriate model can be precisely adapted to the sample size and surface structure.

Models with small apertures are particularly suitable for narrow, small or complex-shaped samples. Models with multiple apertures offer greater flexibility for varying materials. The UV models in the higher-end series also enable reliable measurements on fluorescent samples and optically brightened materials.
