Manual Powder Systems

Manual powder systems combine powder gun and control unit with booth, extraction and powder supply into a compact, flexible solution for manual powder coating.

We configure gun type, kV/µA control, powder feed, air quality and booth airflow precisely to the part, powder system and throughput – for reproducible film builds with minimal powder consumption.

Applications & benefits

Ideal for flexible coating of single parts, small batches and frequent color changes – for example in metal fabrication, furniture and interior production, mechanical & plant engineering or maintenance.

Properly designed manual systems ensure even, fully covering films, reduce rework and provide clean edges as well as high first-pass transfer efficiency.

Technology & settings

  • Gun & control unit: setting kV (field build-up) and µA (charging current) to match the part geometry; recipe profiles for pre-edges, inside corners and flat areas.
  • Powder feed: constant dosing unit with a stable powder/air mixture for uniform feed.
  • Booth: efficient extraction and airflow to minimize overspray; sieving to maintain consistent particle size.
  • Air treatment: dry, oil-free air with controlled humidity in the target range.
  • Safety: compliance with grounding, ATEX and certified pressure relief (PRV).

Accessories & integration

Accessories include powder guns and controls, powder trolleys or containers, injectors, hoses, booth and filter modules, hangers and masking, sieving units, grounding clamps, compressed air treatment as well as maintenance and seal kits.

We handle the compatibility check (powder, connection pattern) and the integration into workshop and line.

Benefits at a glance

  • Reproducible quality – consistent film builds & clean edges
  • Efficient – high first-pass transfer efficiency, reduced rework
  • Fast color changes – ergonomic sets & clear recipe profiles
  • Safe & compliant – grounding, ATEX, verified air quality

Frequently asked questions about manual powder systems

What is a manual powder system and what is it used for?

Manual powder systems consist of a powder gun with control unit, powder feed (e.g. powder trolley/container) and a booth with extraction. They are suitable for flexible, economical coating of small to medium batch sizes, allow fast color changes and provide high reproducibility with correct grounding and air quality.

How do I select the right gun, control unit and booth?

Selection is based on part geometry, required film build, powder system (EP/PES/hybrid), throughput and color change frequency. Important parameters: kV/µA control and recipe profiles, stable powder feed, efficient booth airflow with filtration as well as dry, clean compressed air.

What improves stability, safety and surface quality?

Constant grounding (<1 MΩ), correctly set high voltage/current limit (kV/µA) and an optimized powder/air mixture ensure uniform film build. Booths with suitable extraction/supply air, air treatment (oil/water separators, dryers), sieving and ATEX-compliant components improve process safety and finish.
