Tieser vacuum distillation unit for solvents, DIstatic series, type DV 12 AX - LCD
The Tieser vacuum distillation plant for solvents with stainless steel cooler (INOX) from the Distatic series is available with a choice of 12, 25, 60 and 120 litres of usable capacity. They are suitable for the recovery and reuse of contaminated solvents from cleaning and degreasing processes.

Process description:
Using simple distillation, contaminants (such as resins, polymers, pigments, paints, oils, etc.) are separated from the original solvent. The contaminated solvent is boiled in a stainless steel boiler (Inox AISI 304). It is heated evenly by a heating jacket filled with heat transfer oil, which is heated by one or more heating rods. The solvent vapours produced are fed into an air- or water-cooled condenser. The condensed solvent is collected directly in a container for subsequent reuse. In the case of liquid contamination, the residues are emptied by simply tilting the boiler. In the case of solid contamination, a heat- and solvent-resistant foil bag is used. The properties of the solvent are not altered by distillation, so that the process can be repeated as often as required. All systems can be equipped with a vacuum unit. This function is suitable for solvents with very high boiling points or for flammable solvents with boiling points and auto-ignition temperatures close to each other. The vacuum can be generated pneumatically or electrically, as required.

Additional instructions for pneumatic vacuum vessels:
A compressed air supply is required for distillation systems with pneumatic vacuum vessels. This must be dry and oil-free, reach a pressure range of at least 6 bar and generate a minimum air flow rate of 450 l/min (for the duration of the vacuum build-up).
The vacuum is set at the factory to between -0.5 and -0.7 bar negative pressure, depending on the type of system.
The vacuum boiler is automatically supplied with compressed air. The distillation boiler and the vacuum boiler are now vented (placed under vacuum) via the Venturi nozzle, and the set negative pressure of -0.5 to -0.7 bar is established. The process is accompanied by a clearly audible "hissing" sound. As the vacuum approaches the set value, the hissing sound becomes significantly quieter. The pneumatic vacuum valve now maintains the vacuum at a constant level throughout the entire distillation process. Depending on the tightness of the overall system, this may result in occasional short refilling processes (a few seconds) of the vacuum.
