Ready for shipping in 1-3 days
This revolutionary Elcometer 266 high voltage DC detector makes porosity testing of coatings safer, easier and more reliable than ever before.
User friendly
The voltage calculator automatically sets the correct voltage for your coating thickness value. No need for reference tables.
Safe
A double safety switch on the handle prevents accidental switch-on and special ribs provide excellent protection.
Versatile
Choose a different handle to change the voltage: 5kV, 15kV or 30kV DC, or 30 kV DC continuous voltage.
Suitable for testing the porosity of coatings up to 7.5 mm (300 mils) thick, the Elcometer 266 Holiday detector is the ideal solution for inspecting coatings on pipework and other protective coatings.
The integrated tension calculator of this device sets the correct tension based on the test standard and the thickness of the material to be tested.
- A fully automatic voltage calculation selects the correct test voltage depending on the coating thickness
- Selectable test voltage:
- 0.5kV to 1kV in 50V steps
- 1kV to 30kV in 100V steps
- A double safety switch on the handle to prevent unintentional activation (only grey/orange probe handles)
- An integrated voltmeter / voltage tester ensures that the test voltage always corresponds to the selected voltage
- Visual and audible alarm: Bright LEDs on the probe handle and a loud buzzer clearly indicate when a pore has been detected
- To change the maximum voltage range, use a different handle: 5 kV, 15 kV or 30 kV DC or 30 kV DC constant
- A wide range of brush and roller spring probes are available
Explanation of the features of the Elcometer 266 DC Holiday Detector
![]() | Voltage CalculatorThe voltage calculator automatically sets the correct voltage based on the coating thickness entered. No need for comparison tables thanks to the inbuilt voltage calculator. Enter the test standard and coating thickness and the unit will automatically programme the correct voltage. |
![]() | Adjustable tensionVoltage setting via the keypad - no screwdriver required 0.5 kV - 1 kV in 50 V increments 1 kV - 30 kV in 100 V increments. Voltage can be set via the keypad, so no screwdriver is required. The current sensitivity can be preset manually or set automatically by the tester for partially conductive coatings. |
![]() | Internal voltmeter/jeep testerInternal voltmeter/jeep tester ensures that the selected voltage corresponds to the test voltage. An internal calibrated jeep tester and closed loop control ensure accurate measurement and continuous regulation of the generated test voltage regardless of climatic conditions. |
![]() | Interchangeable probe handlesInterchangeable probe handles: 500 - 5,000 volts, 500 - 15,000 volts, 500 - 30,000 volts |
![]() | Audible and visual alarmsAudible and visual alarm when defects are detected. Brightly lit LEDs on the handle and a loud audible signal clearly indicate that the tester is switched on (red) and when a spark is detected (blue). |
![]() | Battery packRechargeable battery packs can be charged inside and outside the tester for continuous use. The battery packs can be charged either inside or outside the device. The batteries are fully charged in 4 hours and allow 40 hours of continuous use. |
![]() | Universal probe adapterAllows all major accessories to be used with the Elcometer 266. |
![]() | Screen displayLarge backlit display that is easy to read even in dark environments. If a fault is detected, the backlight also flashes. |
![]() | Second handleThe optional second handle is designed for two-handed use without compromising safety. Particularly suitable for checking pipework and tank bottoms. |
Safety feature
- Double safety switch on the handle to prevent unintentional switch-on. A 2-stage safety switch ensures automatic switch-off if the handle is not held.
- Special ribs for better protection and optional second handle for ambidextrous use The longer insulating ribs protect the user and are specifically designed to fulfil the requirements of the EN61010 standard. High voltage testing has never been safer.
- The loudspeaker in the tester emits ticking noises and clearly indicates that the handle is live.
- If a spark is detected, a loud acoustic alarm is emitted. The volume of the alarm signal can be adjusted to ensure that it is audible even in noisy environments.
