Suitable for testing porosity in coatings up to 7.5mm (300 mils) thick, the Elcometer 266 Holiday Detector is the ideal solution for inspecting coatings on pipework as well as other protective coatings.
This device's integrated voltage calculator sets the correct voltage based on the test standard and the thickness of the material being tested.
- A fully automatic voltage calculation selects the correct test voltage depending on the coating thickness.
- Selectable test voltage:
- 0.5kV to 1kV in 50V steps
- 1kV to 30kV in 100V steps
- A double safety switch on the handle to prevent unintentional switching on (only grey/orange probe handles)
- Built-in voltmeter/voltage detector ensures that the test voltage always corresponds to the selected voltage.
- Visual and audible alarm: bright LED's on the probe handle and a loud buzzer clearly indicate when a pore has been detected

Safety feature
- Double safety switch on the handle to prevent unintentional switching on. A 2-stage safety switch ensures automatic switch-off if the handle is not held.
- Special ribs for better protection and an optional second handle for two-handed use. The longer insulating ribs protect the user and are specifically designed to meet the requirements of the EN61010 standard. High-voltage testing has never been safer.
- The loudspeaker in the test device emits a ticking sound to clearly indicate that the handle is live.
- When a sparkover is detected, a loud audible alarm sounds. The volume of the alarm signal is adjustable to ensure that it can be heard in noisy environments.
