Airspray / Low Pressure

Airspray (HVLP, RP/Compliant, LVLP) delivers finest surface finishes at low material pressures. With the right combination of nozzle size, air cap, air volume and material supply (e.g. gravity cup, suction cup, pressure pot or diaphragm pump) you achieve sharp edges, even film builds and minimal overspray.

We size nozzle/needle, air cap, regulators, filters and the hose bundle precisely to the medium, viscosity and required working range.

Applications & benefits

Premium finish for furniture and interior production, electronic housings, plastic parts, fine coatings, stains and primers.

Airspray systems excel especially on small to medium-sized surfaces, detail work and decorative applications. Correctly designed HVLP and RP systems reduce overspray, save material and increase repeatability of results.

Technology & settings

  • Nozzle size & needle: Select to match viscosity and required film build.
  • Air cap: Define fan pattern and atomization level via cap type (HVLP for efficiency, RP for higher coverage rates).
  • Pressure pot / diaphragm pump: Provides continuous material supply for longer spray cycles and uniform application.
  • Air quality: Dryers and filters protect the medium and the gun; regulators/gauges ensure constant pressures.
  • Safety: Observe ATEX, grounding and PRV requirements for solvent-based materials.

Accessories & integration

Accessories include airspray guns (cup or pressure feed), nozzle and air cap sets, pressure pots with or without agitator, low-pressure diaphragm pumps, regulators/gauges, air and material filters, high-flex hoses, swivels, heaters and seal and maintenance kits.

We handle the compatibility check (medium, connection pattern) and integrate all components optimally into your workshop and coating line.

Key benefits at a glance

  • Finest finish & sharp edges thanks to optimised air cap
  • Low overspray & efficient material use
  • Stable processes through defined air/material pressures & air treatment

Frequently asked questions about airspray / low pressure

What is airspray (low pressure) and when is it advantageous?

Airspray uses compressed air for atomization (HVLP, RP/Compliant, LVLP) and operates at low material pressures. Advantages: very fine finish, sharp edges, good control on small parts and for thin film applications – ideal for decor, furniture, plastics and fine coatings.

How do I choose nozzle size, air cap and air volume?

Nozzle size is determined by viscosity, solids content and the desired film build. The air cap defines fan pattern and atomization; HVLP requires more air volume but provides low overspray. Air volume and gun/pot or tank pressure are finely adjusted via regulators.

What improves stability, safety and surface quality?

Clean, dry compressed air (oil/water separators), precise regulators/gauges, suitable hose lengths and short dead volumes ensure stable results. Pressure pots with agitator, finely tuned filters as well as grounding/ATEX, certified pressure relief (PRV) and low-leak fittings increase quality and safety.
