Micro gloss meter 60° angle. The gloss is measured by illuminating the surface with a constant light source at a defined measuring angle. The measurement is carried out using the light reflected at the same angle. This degree of reflection is determined with the aid of a gloss meter. Different materials require different reflection angles.
When do I need which gloss angle?
A measurement is always carried out with the 60° angle. If the values are above 70 GE, the 20° angle should be used. If the values are less than 10 GE, the 20 degree angle should be used. If the values are between 10 GE and 70 GE, the 60° angle is the correct measuring angle Micro gloss meter 60° angle
Gloss range | 60° value | Measurement with |
High gloss | > 70GU | 20° |
Medium gloss | 10 - 70GU | 60° |
Low/matt gloss | < 10GU | 85° |
