Manual powder coating: Why the right manual powder coating unit is crucial
Manual powder coating units are ideal for manual coating, rework and small to medium-sized series. Decisive factors are a uniform film build, stable conveying performance and – depending on the operation – fast, clean color changes.
Modern systems such as OptiFlex Pro not only support productivity, but also reproducibility: The PCC mode controls the spray current even in very low ampere ranges (0–10 µA) with high precision – this helps to avoid overcharging (e.g. with demanding powders such as metallics) and ensures consistently high quality even with large film thicknesses or multi-coat applications.
Repeatable results are also ensured by DVC technology (Digital Valve Control): It enables precise, repeatable adjustment of the powder output and supports a uniform film build.
In practice, changeover is also important: The OptiFlow injector in inline design conveys the powder precisely to the gun. The cartridge design keeps performance constant (easy replacement) and enables faster color changes; depending on hose dimensions, powder outputs of up to 450 g/min are possible.
Typical applications
Manual coating, rework, small series, special parts and frequent color changes.
