Automatic AirCombi / Airmix Spray Guns | beschicht.®

Automatic AirCombi / Airmix – fine finish with high efficiency

Automatic AirCombi/Airmix spray guns combine high material pressure with gentle air assistance. This produces a fine, controlled spray pattern with clean edge definition – with high coverage and reduced overspray. Typical settings: material pressure 60–130 bar plus atomizing air 0.5–1.5 bar.

Nozzle, air cap, parameters – what makes Airmix process-reliable

The nozzle selection (e.g. 0.009″–0.021″) defines flow rate and fan; the air cap stabilizes the edges and fine atomization. Filter fineness (typically 30–100 mesh) protects the nozzle; in combination with piston or diaphragm pumps and precise pressure regulation, you get reproducible film thicknesses and consistent quality.

Automation & Integration

AirCombi/Airmix automatic spray guns are controlled via 24 V I/O (needle stroke) and pneumatics, usually mounted on base plates. Quick-change nozzles, circulation systems, bypass as well as pressure and temperature monitoring shorten downtimes and increase process reliability – ideal for cycle lines and robot cells.

Advantages at a glance

  • Fine finish with clean edge control
  • Less overspray vs. Airspray, better surfaces vs. Airless
  • High coverage & short cycle times
  • Stable, reproducible film thicknesses in line & robots

Distinction: Airless & Airspray

Airless maximizes coverage without atomizing air, but may reach limits with edges and fine transitions. Airspray delivers the finest finish but is more air- and material-intensive. AirCombi/Airmix sits in between: efficient like Airless, fine like Airspray – ideal for mixed geometries.

Frequently Asked Questions about Automatic AirCombi / Airmix Spray Guns

How does an automatic AirCombi/Airmix spray gun work?

AirCombi/Airmix uses high material pressure plus low atomizing air. This delivers high coverage with a fine finish and clean edge control – ideal for automated processes.

What is Airmix particularly suitable for?

For serial coating of metal, plastic and wood parts with varying geometries when both efficiency and surface quality are required.

Which nozzle and cap fit my material?

Typical orifices 0.009″–0.021″; selection based on viscosity, film thickness, part geometry and desired fan width. Starting values: 60–130 bar material pressure and 0.5–1.5 bar atomizing air.

How do I integrate Airmix into line/robot?

Via 24-V I/O (needle stroke), base plates, quick change for nozzles/caps, circulation systems as well as pressure/temperature monitoring – for short cycle times and high repeatability.
