Airbrush guns deliver fine gradients, precise lines, and creative versatility. The airbrush process uses compressed air to atomize paint through a fine nozzle – ideal for model making, art, custom painting, and cosmetics. This achieves smooth, professional surfaces with minimal material use.
Unlike traditional spray guns, the airbrush system operates at low pressure (1–2 bar) for especially fine atomization. The double-action function allows precise control of both air and paint flow. The result: soft transitions, realistic shading, and maximum control over paint application.
Ensure the right combination of nozzle size, paint viscosity, and compressor pressure for perfect results.

For beginners, double-action airbrush guns with a 0.3 mm nozzle are ideal because they offer control and versatility. Professionals use finer nozzles (0.15–0.2 mm) for detail work or larger ones (0.4–0.5 mm) for broader areas. Brands like Harder & Steenbeck, Iwata, or Fengda are popular.
For acrylic or model paints, a nozzle size of 0.2–0.4 mm is recommended. Fine illustrations and nail art work well with 0.15 mm, while primers or metallic paints are ideal with 0.5 mm. The correct viscosity of the airbrush paint is important.
A quiet, oil-free compressor with a pressure regulator and moisture trap is optimal. For fine work, 1–2 bar is sufficient; for larger areas, up to 3 bar. Make sure you have a constant air output (min. 20–25 l/min) for even paint application.
Use specially thinned, acrylic-based airbrush paints, e.g., from Vallejo, Schmincke, or Createx. These are finely pigmented and help prevent clogging. There are dedicated series for textiles, model making, or art.
Improve the quality of your coating projects with our high-quality airbrush guns – for professional results at the highest level.
