Probleme mit dem Pulverbehälter in der Pulverbeschichtung: Ursachen erkennen und beheben

Problems with the powder container in powder coating: Identifying and resolving causes

An efficiently operating powder container is crucial for uniform, high-quality powder coating. Problems in this area can lead to uneven powder application, material waste and production interruptions. Below, we explain the most common causes and provide practical solutions based on recommendations from GEMA.

1. Overpressure in the powder container due to blocked ventilation

If the powder container is not close enough to the booth, the venting can become blocked. This leads to excess pressure in the container, allowing the powder-air mixture to escape uncontrollably.

Solution: Position the powder container as close as possible to the cabin and use the shortest possible connecting hose. Clean this hose daily to prevent blockages.

2. Excessive fluid air pressure or air volume

Excessive pressure or air volume can cause the powder in the container to swirl too much, which has a negative effect on fluidisation.

Solution: Ensure that the fluidised powder only "boils" slightly but evenly. Check and adjust the fluid air pressure accordingly.

3. Wear of the fluidisation plates

After prolonged use, the fluidisation plates may wear out, which impairs the even distribution of the powder.

Solution: Regularly check the condition of the fluidisation plates and replace them if necessary to ensure optimum powder distribution.

By observing these points and regularly maintaining your equipment, you can increase the efficiency of your powder coating processes and avoid quality problems.
